Pili Nuts are thought to have been first consumed by the ancient inhabitants of the modern-day Philippines area. These nuts have a light buttery flavor and smooth texture similar to cashews or almonds. It takes six years before the tree begins to bear the fruit containing the nuts and harvesting is only from May to October so this rare tropical nut is challenging to produce!
