Chia seeds come from a flowering plant in the mint family and originate from southern and central Mexico. Evidence has been shown that Chia seeds were a staple food for Mesoamerican cultures and cultivated by the Aztecs. These seeds are a rich plant based source for Omega-3 fatty acids, plant based protein, and contain an abundant amount of vitamins and minerals. Chia seeds have been known to help with digestion and cleansing of the colon.
